Data Protection, Privacy and Confidentiality

At New Ark Play Therapy, your privacy and the protection of personal information is extremely important. Any information shared with me through enquiries, referrals, consultation meetings, therapy sessions, reports, or communication with families and professionals is handled sensitively, securely, and in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Information is collected only where it is necessary to provide safe, ethical, and effective therapeutic support. This may include contact details, referral information, relevant background information, session records, review notes, and communication with parents, carers, schools, or other professionals involved in a child or young person's care.
All records are stored securely and access is restricted. Information will not be shared with third parties without consent unless there is a legal, ethical, safeguarding, or professional duty to do so. This may include concerns about a child or young person's safety, risk of harm, or where information is required by law.
I am registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), hold an Enhanced DBS check, have professional insurance, and work in line with the ethical and professional standards of the British Association of Play Therapists (BAPT).
Further information about how personal information is collected, used, stored, shared, and protected can be found in the full Privacy Policy. If you have any questions about data protection, privacy, or confidentiality, please get in touch and I will be happy to provide further information.
